Joe Bartley</span>
Joe Bartley, 69, of Newsome Branch of Caney, died Monday, May 7, 2012, at Pikeville Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 10, 1942 in Pike County to the Kenis and Alfair Newsome Bartley.
He was a retired coal miner.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Rob Bartley, R.S. Bartley, Lee Bartley, A.J. Bartley; six sisters, Mae George, Almeda Martin, Marie Hopkins, Fannie Hall, Pearl Hall, Haley Branham.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary Thacker Bartley, three sons, Donnie Joe Bartley of Prestonsburg, Rickie Bartley of Penny Road, Robert Bartley of Prestonsburg; two daughters Lisa Huff and Vickie Bartley; eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 11, at the Caney Creek Old Regular Baptist Church with Kermit Wright and other officiating. Burial will follow in the Bartley Cemetery at Penny Road.
Visitation will be at the Caney Creek Old Regular Baptist Church after 6 p.m. Wednesday with services nightly at 7 p.m.
